iUrs: Imaging Artist

I ran across some images from The Blue Period very early on in my Flickr experience and was struck by the fine touch applied to the nudes. A master of all kinds of light, iUrs is deserves every bit of praise he receives..........and he even puts poems with some of his images.

Lightchaser: inspiration

The can be no mistaking the impact of Michael's work on my view of Flickr: that feeling of "died and went to heaven" fits well. There are three of his images here because his Monochrome Portfolio is as impressive as his Color Portfolio. He's a master craftsman at the top of his game, with an artistic eye and unfailingly high quality in his images.

In that heady first week of discovery, I wrote to Tom to say I loved his work. All seascapes from then on have had to come up against his incredible visions, and he has continued expanding an already awesome repertoire with B&W work.

Charlie was one of the six major encounters during that first week on Flickr. His images have an amazing take on natural beauty, especially his macro work that creates new vistas of color and form. His scenic shots are delicate and intricate, perfectly balanced and full of muted but intense colors. My early exposure to his Mosaics made me see the possibility of a separate art form, where placement of color, darkness and form are the important variables.

My Baby Mia--mentor

Mia showed up in response to an Explore pic of mine, and became a good friend. She is the person who introduced me to Flickr groups, influencing me by her manner as well as the beauty of her images. She's one of a kind....I'm so fortunate to know her.

Limbo Poet: mentor

It was an auspicious meeting of poets on MySpace in May of 2007 that led to my quick departure from that unruly place. Fred is an Explore Master, with 230 selections to date. He also has a CD of him reading his poetry to a musical background that I enjoyed immensely and recommend highly. He'll send it to you if you ask.
